The Annual Catholic Appeal is an annual campaign that was started in 1959 to help support educational, pastoral and social ministries across the four counties of western Massachusetts that are the Diocese of Springfield. This is more than just a fund collection, it’s a vital initiative that provides necessary and valuable resources to more than 40 ministries and agencies in western Massachusetts.
By contributing to this appeal, you are investing in the heart of our community - supporting those in need, educating future leaders, and nurturing faith.
Our ministries focus on lifting up families and individuals facing difficult circumstances. Your contributions provide essential resources, counseling, and support services to help them navigate life's challenges. Our ministries are able to help provide meals for the young and the elderly, ensuring no one in our community goes hungry.
Your support also helps train and mentor future leaders in faith, ensuring the continuity of our mission; it allows us to reach out to those seeking spiritual nourishment and a deeper connection with God. In addition, the ACA champions the sanctity of life at every stage, funding programs that advocate for life-affirming choices and provide support for families in need.

Appeal Mission StatementThe Annual Catholic Appeal was initiated in 1959 to provide for the ever-increasing educational, human, pastoral, and spiritual needs of the people of Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden, and Hampshire counties. Funds raised through the Annual Catholic Appeal enable our Church to implement and administer these and other critical services in a comprehensive framework in order to carry out the work of Jesus Christ. It would not be possible to carry out His work without your assistance.
Through the Annual Catholic Appeal, the Catholic Church of western Massachusetts assists elderly persons in need; families in crisis; people who are homeless, lonely, and vulnerable; youth and young adults; and our parishes and Catholic schools. The Appeal also enables the Church to promote social justice, respect for human life, conception until natural death, and to communicate with all who seek to hear the teachings of Jesus Christ.
